Meet our Director

Co-founder of Team WERK , Alexa Boderman manages our MN location! She is no stranger to directing her credentials are as follows;

• 23 years of dance experience

• 10 years of coaching experience

going into my 4th season as the head dance team coach for St. Catherine University

- Ranked 6th in the nation in 2018 and Regional champions in 2019

Bachelor's of Science degree in Exercise Science and a double minor in Athletic Coaching and Psychology

• Dancer for the Primetime Basketball League

•Hip Hop, Pom and Jazz funk choreographer

•Performed in the Jenzi Russell Show Me Showcase in Phoenix Arizona in 2018 and 2019

•2x NBA dancer finalist (2015 and 2016) and master class dancer in 2016

•4 year member of the St. Catherine University Dance Team

•Varsity dancer 2013-2017

• 2 year Captain

•4 time varsity letter recipient

•4 time Most spirited dancer  

•3 year Wildcat Student-Athlete Advisory Committee NCAA DIII (WSAAC)

Lacasha Love

Lacasha Love is a Minneapolis hometown favorite, recognized for her Hip-Hop dancing and audaciously skilled choreography. Her passion for dance was birthed from her high school step team; Dynasty, and an all girls group; Desire. Lacasha's leadership, compassion for young women, community, and her immense love for for dance exemplifies the kind of role model needed in today's society. Her impressive orginial dancing has inspired hope for all, and sparked the interest of many people as she's opened up for WizKid, teaches dance classes locally, performs at local community events just to name a few. She is very excited to be apart of her 2nd season with the  Team Werk MN family!

Sophie Boisvert

Sophie Boisvert attended high school at Main Street School of Performing Arts (now PiM Arts High School) where she graduated with an honors arts endorsement in Dance in 2016. Sophie went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota in December of 2019 with her Bachelor's Degree in Dance. She has participated in countless performances at venues across the Twin Cities, and has appeared in music videos for local and international artists, as well as choreographing some. Sophie has had the privilege of performing in works created by choreographers/companies including Eko Supriyanto, Chris Schlichting, Michel Kouakou (Daara Dance), John Mark Hostetler, and many more. She has been teaching dance for about 5 years now and loves sharing knowledge with her students and watching them grow. She is excited to be apart of her 2nd season with the Team Werk MN family!

Paulina Jai

Paulina Jai also know as Get Thick With Polly! Her passions are health, fitness, and sharing with others how to be their best selves! Paulina is currently studying at NASM and preparing to take the exam to become a certified trainer! She been training clients since January 2020. She is so happy to be part of Team Werk family for a 2nd season and can't wait teach everyone every week in our new WerkOut program you can do right from the comfort of your home! A quote that inspires her is, "Fitness doesn’t have to be a punishment for what you eat or what you are, it’s a place where we can see how beautiful, strong mentally and physically you are or can become!” So Let's Werk!

Zofia Matthews

Originally from Portland, Oregon, Zofia Mathews was drawn to Minnesota for the academic dance scene and graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance, along with minors in Spanish and Health and Wellness Promotion. While in the program she performed in works by Herb Johnson III, Joanie Smith, luciana achugar, as well as in student works, in styles ranging from/between KRUMP, modern, postmodern and contemporary, and her modern dance choreography for the composition course of Fall 2019 was chosen to be performed again in the Spring 2020 performance. Her creative endeavors are largely informed by her interest and work in heels dance projects and personal explorations within the worlds of social dance, burlesque-based movement, urban forms/hip hop, Olympic Weightlifting, all tied together with theoretical and social-cultural analysis. Zofia’s teaching and leadership styles are informed and inspired by her full time work as a personal trainer, her experience teaching heels dance and modern dance workshops, as well as her past leadership roles within the College of Liberal Arts Office of Student Experience. She is excited to begin her first season with Team Werk teaching Modern and WerkOut classes.
